Peter A. Umoff Peter A. Umoff obtained his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas. He started his legal career in Los Angeles in 1979 and moved to Santa Barbara in 1984. He was a partner in one of the largest law firms in Santa Barbara before becoming in-house counsel and vice president of one of Santa Barbara’s largest employers, where he dealt with all aspects of employment law on a daily basis. Mr. Umoff joined Seed Mackall as a partner in 1992 to create and manage the firm’s litigation department, of which he is still chairman. Mr. Umoff has quite extensive employment law experience through his role as in-house counsel and his litigation of a wide variety of employment-related claims. He has provided both employment law counseling and employment litigation representation to numerous businesses in various fields, including telecommunications, development and construction, restaurant and resort development and management, banking and trust services, publishing, investment, and retail. Mr. Umoff serves as business advisor to many clients who rely on his business background and acumen as well as his litigation experience to help them avoid litigation or enhance their litigation position through pre-litigation planning.
